Student privacy starts with controlled access.

1. Operator and scope

RealGeniuses is a product and educational service operated by Book That Spot LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. This policy applies to the RealGeniuses parent, student, teacher, school, and related online services that link to it.

2. Information we collect

Parent and guardian information: name, email address, password hash, timezone, communication preferences, linked-child relationships, consent records, support communications, subscription and transaction records, and account activity.

Student and educational information: name and account identifiers; age, grade, class, curriculum, jurisdiction, language, school and teacher relationships; assignments, answers, submissions, scores, feedback, learning progress, strengths, needs, and generated practice materials. The exact information depends on the features used and permissions granted.

Technical information: IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, session and security records, page or feature usage, error logs, and privacy-protective analytics needed to operate and improve the service.

Payment information: our payment processor handles payment-card details. RealGeniuses receives transaction identifiers, product or plan information, payment status, billing interval, and limited customer details needed for account and billing support; it is not designed to store full card numbers.

3. How information is collected

Information may be provided by a parent, guardian, student, teacher, school administrator, or authorized integration; created through use of the service; or collected automatically for security, reliability, and operation. Student linking uses controlled invitations, codes, or authorized school relationships rather than public student search.

4. How we use information

• Create, authenticate, secure, and support accounts
• Link authorized parents, guardians, students, teachers, and schools
• Deliver assignments, practice, study materials, scoring, feedback, and progress views
• Generate and review supplemental educational content
• Process subscriptions, purchases, credits, cancellations, and billing support
• Send transactional notices and user-selected communications
• Prevent fraud, investigate misuse, troubleshoot errors, and protect users
• Measure and improve the service using appropriately limited analytics
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable agreements

5. Children’s privacy and parental control

RealGeniuses serves K–12 learners and is designed to protect children’s information. We require appropriate parent, guardian, school, or other legally permitted authorization before enabling collection or use of personal information from a child under 13. We do not permit children to publicly post personal information through the ordinary learning workflows, and we do not provide public student search.

A verified parent or guardian may request access to the personal information maintained about their child, ask us to correct or delete it, or refuse further collection or use. 6. School-directed use

When a school provides or authorizes student information for an educational purpose, the school may act as the parent’s agent where permitted by law and remains responsible for providing required notices and obtaining required authorizations. RealGeniuses uses school-directed information to provide the requested educational service and applies the school’s role and visibility controls. Parents should contact the school for questions about school-controlled education records and may also contact us for assistance.

7. When information is shared

We share information only as needed for the service, with appropriate controls:

• Authorized users: linked parents or guardians, students, teachers, and schools receive only the views permitted for their roles.
• Payment processing: Stripe processes payments and related billing events.
• Hosting and communications: cloud-hosting, database, security, and email providers, including Amazon Web Services, process information needed to operate and communicate.
• Authentication: Google processes information when a user chooses Google Sign-In.
• AI-assisted educational services: contracted model providers may process limited prompts and educational context needed to generate or evaluate requested material. We seek to minimize identifying information sent for this purpose.
• Professional, safety, and legal needs: advisers, auditors, authorities, or other recipients may receive information when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate fraud or security incidents, complete a business transaction with appropriate safeguards, or comply with law.

8. No sale or behavioral advertising using children’s information

Book That Spot LLC does not sell children’s personal information. RealGeniuses does not use a child’s personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.

9. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, maintain required educational or consent records, complete transactions, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it using reasonable measures designed to protect against unauthorized access or use. Limited records may remain in protected backups until normal backup expiration or where retention is legally required.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including role-based access, authentication controls, encrypted network connections, logging, and restricted infrastructure access. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please report suspected unauthorized access to privacy@realgeniuses.com.

11. Parent and user choices

Parents and guardians can update certain account details and communication preferences in the portal. Requests to access, correct, export, or delete personal information, close an account, or withdraw child-data authorization may be sent to the Privacy address below. Some information may be retained where required for security, transactions, school records, dispute resolution, or law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date will be revised, and we will provide appropriate notice and obtain new consent when a material change requires it.
